A BIT ABOUT ME
My name is Scott Hunt and I've been grooming since 2005 when I took an early retirement from working in the corporate world.
In 2005, I attended the California School of Dog Grooming in San Marcos, CA. Since I graduated, I have worked in various shops in Murrieta and Temecula.
In 2008, I returned to the California School of Dog Grooming as an Instructor and have trained many students in the fine art of pet grooming.
I am a huge fan of the Cat Fancy. I own and have shown champion Bengal cats for almost 15 years in The International Cat Association (TICA). I'm currently showing a new breed called Lykoi or Werewolf Cat. I also have my sweet and lovable dogs Brody, a Shih Tzu and Robby, a Pomeranian.

DOG GROOMING
Prices below are estimates on that reflect pets being groomed on a regular basis which is from 1 to 8 weeks, depending on breed/coat. Aggressive or hard-to-control dogs, geriatric animals, or pets not on a regular grooming schedule will be charged accordingly, as will dogs with matted coats and/or burrs. Minimum Service Call is $75.00.

MY GROOMING POLICIES
BEHAVIOR ISSUES:
If your pet has a behavior problem, please be honest and let me know. This does not mean that your pet cannot be groomed. It means that I will take the extra time and the necessary precautions for everyone’s safety. Owners will be held liable for any bites or any property damage caused by their pets. I will stop the grooming process if I feel your pet’s behavior is compromising their or my safety. Pro-rated charges will apply.
SENIOR/DISABLED AND PETS WITH HEALTH PROBLEMS:
Grooming procedures sometimes can be stressful, especially for a senior pet or a pet with health problems, and can expose hidden medical conditions or aggravate existing ones, during or after the grooming. Because senior pets and pets with health problems have a greater chance of injury, these pets will be groomed for cleanliness and comfort in styles that will not add to their stress. You hereby agree not to hold Grr’n’Purr responsible for accident or injury to your senior or health compromised pet during grooming.
MATTED PETS:
De-matting is a stressful procedure for your pet and I will only do it if the matting is at a minimum. Excessively matted pets will receive a short hair cut to “start over”. Removing a matted coat includes risks of nicks, cuts or abrasions due to warts, moles or skin folds trapped in the mats. Heavy matting can also trap moisture near the pet’s skin allowing mold, fungus or bacteria to grow, causing skin irritations that exist prior to the grooming process. After-effects of mat removal can include itchiness, skin redness, self inflicted irritations or abrasions and failure of the hair to re-grow. In some cases, pets may also exhibit brief behavioral changes. The owner is responsible for the condition of the pet’s coat and will not hold Grr’n’Purr responsible in the event of adverse effects of mat removal and/or shaving. Additional charges will apply for matted pets.
VETERINARY SERVICES:
I will make every effort to ensure your pet’s grooming is pleasant and safe, however, if your pet becomes ill or is hurt and the services of a veterinarian are required, you hereby give me permission to obtain treatment if you are not available to do so and you further agree to pay any and all veterinary expenses.
CATS
Cats must be easily accessible and preferably confined in a bathroom or in a carrier before I arrive. If the cat is “missing in action” for more than 10 minutes after I arrive, the appointment will be cancelled and you will be responsible for 50% of the total groom price.
PRICING:
Pricing varies for each pet and it is determined by breed, size, services requested and the condition of the pet. Additional charges may apply for matting, de-shedding, excessive coat and flea treatments. Additional charges may also apply due to the pet’s temperament and behavior during the groom. All quotes are not final until the end of the grooming appointment.
APPOINTMENTS:
I will arrive as close to the scheduled appointment time as possible, however, sometimes situations occur that will disrupt the daily schedule of the groom. This includes traffic, weather, mechanical difficulties or spending more time with an older/younger pet or a difficult pet. I will never compromise a pet’s safety by rushing to meet a schedule. You will be called and advised of an arrival time when schedules change beyond my control. You should plan to be available 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after the allotted appointment time.
CANCELLATIONS/NO SHOWS:
ALL CANCELLATIONS MUST BE MADE AT LEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. A $35.00 FEE WILL BE ASSESSED FOR THOSE CANCELLATIONS MADE WITH LESS THAN 24 HOURS NOTICE. THIS FEE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO YOUR NEXT GROOMING APPOINTMENT. THERE WILL BE A $45.00 TRIP FEE FOR A MISSED SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT. THIS FEE MUST BE PAID PRIOR TO YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT.
PAYMENT:
All grooming fees must be paid at the time services are rendered. Grr’n’Purr accepts Cash, Check and all major Credit Cards. Checks returned due to insufficient funds will be subject to a $45 “returned check fee”, plus any fee my bank may charge. If you are not present for your pet’s groom, payment must be arranged ahead of time.
PICTURES:
Owner consents that Grr’n’Purr may take pictures of your pet, before and after grooming and utilize the same for Grr’n’Purr’s website or social media.
OTHER INFORMATION:
Grr'n'Purr is licensed and insured. Grr'n'Purr reserves the right to refuse service for any reason.
MY VAN
My van is a brand new, state of the art grooming vehicle from Wag'nTails, the premier name in the mobile grooming van conversion industry. I've had the van customized to more comfortably accommodate my cat clients. Of course, my dog clients benefit from this comfort as well.
The van is ergonomically designed and is equipped with everything needed for professional grooming, including heated water, bathtub, power lift table, driers, plus climate control (heat and air conditioning) to keep you pet comfortable during its groom.
This van allows me to groom your pets at your home or workplace, which is typically far more convenient for the owner and far less stressful for the pet compared to shop grooming.
